After several years teaching History and Spanish and filling countless other roles at EBS, Kamia became our first Director of Student Life. Working with middle school students and watching the tremendous mental and physical growth that happens over the course of three short years energizes her; she looks forward every year to our student-designed 8th grade graduation, where students reflect on their academic growth and show appreciation for the relationships they’ve built.

Prior to joining EBS, she worked at St. Paul’s Episcopal School in Oakland, was the Site Director for Aim High’s Oakland Fruitvale program, and was the Program Director of Making Waves at The Branson School in Marin. Kamia earned a BA in History from Boston University and a Master of Education in Administration and Interdisciplinary Studies with a special focus in Social Justice and Equity from San Francisco State University. She loves music and dancing, practicing martial arts, and giving back through community service and civic engagement.
