Clubs and Affinity Groups

Clubs

Clubs offer students opportunities to explore interests and talents beyond the curriculum for an additional fee. Classes are offered for ten and twelve-week sessions starting in September and are open to all students. Instructors are dedicated educators from within the school community and the Bay Area. Offerings include Coding Club, Chess Club, Comic Book Club, and Skate Club.

Affinity Groups

Affinity groups are an integral part of our social-emotional curriculum that build and foster a space for EBS students to explore personal identity development, together. Students self-select into groups based on racial and cultural affinity to engage in identity work by sharing their perspective through self-expression with other EBS students. Students collaborate and work together to learn more about and from one another.

Parent Affinity groups allow for families with affinity in their family identity to grapple with power and privilege and how it impacts their parenting and family dynamics. The groups also provide a place for parents to talk about their identity in the context of the school community and provide feedback to the school about how better to support and care for issues their group experiences in the EBS community and beyond. The purpose and format of the groups is still developing, being a place for content and socializing.
