How to Apply

The East Bay School is seeking students who:

  • Are creative and curious, know what it means to be a good citizen in a school, and have the potential to be successful in our learning environment;

  • Would thrive in our innovative, project-based setting, using it as an opportunity to learn about themselves, be excited about exploring and learning, and challenge themselves to be change agents in our world; and

  • Come from all parts of the East Bay, from both public and private schools and from all different genders, ethnic, racial, socio-economic, family, and religious backgrounds. Diversity is central to the mission of The East Bay School.

Get to Know EBS. EBS offers several opportunities to help you learn more about our school community.

Weekly Campus Tours (Oct. - Jan.) provide a glimpse into our curriculum, culture and campus. Hear from our current students, Head of School, and ask questions with our Director of Admissions.

Virtual Q&A Sessions (Oct. - Jan.) are informal chats about our program and are designed to be a space for you to ask questions and meet our Head of School.

Our Parent House Party (Date TBD) is a fun, relaxed environment where you can get to know our school community and ask current parents questions that you may not have asked at the school event.

Complete our online application.

Starting October 1st, applications can be found HERE on SchoolAdmin. Our priority applications are due by January 17th, 2025; if applications are submitted after January 17, we will accept them on a rolling basis. Please contact our admissions office to inquire about an application fee waiver if needed. Flexible Tuition applications are due February 1, 2025. More info on Flexible Tuition can be found HERE.

Submit school records. Provide the previous two years’ academic transcripts of your child and at least two teacher recommendations.

Student Shadow Visit / Assessment. Applicants are invited to spend the day on campus getting to know the students, visiting the classrooms, and hearing from student leaders about their experience at EBS.  This will be a fun day, coupled with an informal academic assessment. You can sign up for a Student Visit Day in SchoolAdmin.
